Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, an expert in the player transfer market, denied reports that Barcelona had moved to sign French star Kilian Mbappe, whose rivals Real Madrid have been seeking to sign since last summer.

On Friday, the French newspaper L'Équipe published news that Barcelona had entered the race to sign Mbappe, while the future of the French striker still vacillated between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

The newspaper said that Barcelona is preparing itself to include Mbappe, and that it has already taken direct measures to contract him, noting that Mbappe did not close the door to the Catalan club.

In response to the French newspaper's report, Romano said, "It was reported that Barcelona started a race to sign Kylian Mbappe, but Barcelona says that is not the case and they have not dealt with the Paris Saint-Germain striker, who has been dreaming of playing for Real Madrid for years."

Barcelona sources deny talks and approaches for Kylian Mbappé.

Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain in his future, nothing else as things stand.

The Italian sports journalist spoke in more detail about the possibility of Mbappe moving to Barcelona in a video he posted on his YouTube channel today, Saturday, adding, "I will clarify some things about these rumors. People close to Barcelona have assured me that there are no contacts or opportunities for this deal."

And on Mbappe’s position on Real Madrid, Romano continued, “We always know that the French star is Real Madrid’s priority, and now there is nothing new, as the situation has not changed for him, and from what I was told, the contract between the two parties has not yet been signed, so we will wait for it to be announced.”

"We know that Real Madrid has a contract ready for Mbappe, and we know that he is already planning all the details of this contract, so the royal team is ready and they are just waiting for the French to sign," stressing at the same time that Paris Saint-Germain will fight to keep Mbappe until the end to renew his contract. .
