Algeria shocked Cameroon in its own country...and is close to the World Cup

The Algerian national team put forward in the World Cup finals with a precious victory away from its stadium at the expense of its host Cameroon, with a clean goal, in the first leg of the play-off match that was held this evening at Jaboma Stadium.

Islam Slimani scored the match's only goal in the 40th minute to lead his country to a victory that will facilitate the task of the Al-Ayyam meeting, which will be held next Tuesday at Mustafa Shaker Stadium in Algeria.

The match was stopped for 6 minutes with the start of the second half due to a technical problem that caused part of the stadium lighting to go out, before the confrontation resumed after the lights returned completely.

Referee Joshua Bondo added 11 minutes instead of added time, so the match continued until the 101st minute.
