The German volleyball star Georg Grozer has added another success to his successful CV.

With the Italian club team Vero Volley Monza, the 37-year-old won the CEV Cup on Wednesday evening thanks to a 3-0 (26:24, 25:18, 25:18) away win at Tours VB.

Diagonal attacker Grozer contributed eleven points to victory.

On his Instagram page, two-meter-man Grozer presents himself in a beaming pose of celebration with the huge trophy in his right hand, his left hand clenched into a winner's fist and the gold medal firmly in his mouth.

The Budapest-born globetrotter has only been playing in the northern Italian city near Milan, which is best known in the sports world for its Formula 1 race track, for the first time this season.

In the course of his dazzling career, Grozer was also a Champions League winner and club world champion in 2014 with his then Russian club Lokomotive Belgorod, as well as Chinese, Polish, Russian, Hungarian and German champions with their respective teams.

Georg Grozer, whose father Georg Grozer Senior was also a successful volleyball player, left the German Bundesliga in 2010 after winning the title with VfB Friedrichshafen.

However, he is still active for the German national team, even if he has toyed with the idea of retiring.

He led her to World Championship bronze in 2014 and European Championship silver in 2017.

The volleyball players from Allianz MTV Stuttgart meanwhile missed the coup in the CEV Cup and thus their second title within three days.

In the second leg of the final, coach Tore Aleksandersen's team lost 3-1 (18:25, 21:25, 25:18, 24:26) to Eczacibasi Istanbul on Tuesday evening.

The Turkish record champions had already won the first leg 3-1 at home.

Only on Sunday, however, did the Stuttgart women win the DVV Cup for the fourth time thanks to a 3-0 final win against Dresdner SC.

Stuttgart is also unbeaten in the Bundesliga main round and is aiming for its second championship after 2019 in the play-offs.

On the other hand, they have to wait for the first international title in their club's history.
