French midfielder Paul Pogba said that thieves stole his medal for winning the World Cup in Russia 2018 with his country, among several things that were stolen during a burglary of his home last week.

Pogba's house was burgled on March 15 while his two children were sleeping, as the incident occurred during the Manchester United match against its guest, Atletico Madrid, in the second leg of the Champions League final.

The 29-year-old won the 2018 World Cup with France after defeating Croatia in the final in Russia.

"There were jewelry for my mother and the World Cup medal," Pogba told French newspaper Le Figaro on Tuesday.

"The thing that frightened me the most was the presence of the two children at home with the nanny during the incident," he added.

"I listened to what happened and called my wife and security and then closed the room with the two children. She was in shock for several days. The most important thing is that the two children are fine."

Pogba joined the France squad - which qualified for the 2022 World Cup - to play a friendly match against Ivory Coast on Friday, and another against South Africa on March 29.
