On Tuesday, Charlotte Kalla announced that she will end her career after the Swedish Championships week in Piteå.
Immediately after the initial race, where she took bronze in the 10-kilometer classic, the icon tells SVT Sport about the decision.
- It was special to call family and friends and tell them that I have finally made up my mind.
For the first time, I can look back, says an obviously taken Kalla.
She continues:
- It felt easier to tell about it now that I have decided.
Now I do not have to hesitate back and forth.
I am aware that there will be some doubt in the near future.
What has been most difficult is when people have reminded me of what journey I have made.
