Accident rate Traffic fails with the elderly
The Reporting Team of the Civil Guard of Toledo has taken a statement from an 88-year-old man, as
investigated but not detained
, for an alleged crime against road safety,
driving in a manifestly reckless manner
, when driving with a motor vehicle in the opposite direction and for circulating with the permit
expired since December 2021
.
The events occurred in the early evening of March
15
, when the Civil Guard of Ciudad Real alerted for a tourist
traveling in the opposite direction along kilometer 172 of the A-4 at about 60km/h
, in the municipality of Manzanares , as reported by the Civil Guard in a press release.
About an hour later, components of the Valdepeñas Civil Guard Traffic Group managed to catch up and stop the vehicle at kilometer 100.9 of the same road, while
a patrol from the Ocaña Detachment had stopped traffic on the highway at kilometer 96 to avoid possible accidents

The driver, who was subjected to
alcohol and drug tests, showing negative results in both tests
, was investigated for a crime against road safety, having driven 71 kilometers in the opposite direction, remaining
at the disposal of the judicial authority
