On March 19, Mi Feng, a spokesman for the National Health Commission, said at a press conference that currently, the epidemic in Hong Kong has entered a high plateau, the rapid rise has been controlled, and it has shown a volatile downward trend. At the high level of 20,000-30,000 a day, the situation is still grim and the pressure is still great.

The central government attaches great importance to and fully supports the prevention and control of the epidemic in Hong Kong, and has dispatched several batches of experts and working forces to support the SAR government in fulfilling its primary responsibility for prevention and control.

The Hong Kong SAR government has set "reducing severe illness, reducing death, and reducing infection" as a phased work goal, and strives to do a good job in the prevention and control of key groups, key institutions, and key areas, and prioritizes the elderly as a group of care.

The National Health Commission will continue to support and assist the Hong Kong SAR government and people from all walks of life in stabilizing the epidemic as soon as possible according to the needs of epidemic prevention and control and the requirements of the Hong Kong SAR government.
