The big GP class in Paris is one of the most prestigious competitions of the year.

Twelve flawless riders went on to the jump and three of them were Swedes.

Angelica Augustsson Zantonelli was first out but went on a knockout and finished in eighth place, but it went better for Henrik von Eckermann and Peder Fredricson.

The latter was the first of the two and took the lead after a flawless jump together with Hansson WL.

- It was a difficult jump, I did not go full because I wanted to clear the zero and in the end it was really small margins, says Fredricson to ridsport.se.

Shortly after, however, he was passed by the home jumper Kevin Staut and then it was up to von Eckermann and his King Edward whether there would be a Swedish first place or not.

But he did not quite reach all the way forward and missed the victory by 55 hundredths.

- I'm disappointed with my own riding.

He feels really, really good, better than ever.

It feels like the victory is served on a silver platter and I should have ridden better, says von Eckermann.

For Fredricson and Hansson WL, third place was a great success considering the horse's injury break.

- You always want to win, but that he is back at the five-star GP feels very good.

Finding horses like this is not easy and I am extremely grateful to the owners that he is with me, says Fredricson.
