Coach Johan de Wit, who has coached Miho Takagi, who won the gold medal in speed skating at the Beijing Olympics, will retire as the head coach of the Japan Skating Federation's national team.

De Witt became the head coach of the national team of the Japan Skating Federation in 2015, which brought together representative-level athletes from speed skating, and has been coaching until last month's Beijing Olympics. It means that he will retire as the head coach of the national team.

Coach De Witt wrote on his social media, "This is the end of my seven-year trip to Japan. I'm proud of all the medals and jobs I've won."

De Witt coach is 42 years old.

Originally from the Netherlands, a power skating powerhouse, he introduced scientific strength training to the Japanese national team to train Takagi and others into world-class athletes.

He also worked to strengthen his team pursuit, which led to his second consecutive Olympic medal.

The Japan Skating Federation intends to promote the succession centered on Japanese coaches, and how to build a new strengthening system while taking over the coaching method of De Witt coach who has left a track record in two consecutive tournaments. Is an issue.
