Despite the fact that it felt like he had a disease in his body throughout the week, Sebastian Samuelsson managed to secure a third place and important world cup points in Friday's sprint in Holmenkollen.

Before Saturday's hunt start, Samuelsson was in second place in the total, 280 points from the great Quentin Fillon Maillet at the top but with only eight points down to third Emelien Jacquelin, ten to four Sturla Holm Lägreid and twelve to five Vetle Sjöstad Christiansen.

It also started well for Samuelsson who, just like Lägreid (first in the sprint) and Fillon Maillet (second in the sprint), shot full in the first shot.

In the second, however, things started to happen, Lägreid missed a shot at the same time as Samuelsson shot full and suddenly he had a hang on the Norwegian.

Two Samuelsson booms in the third shot were ruining the day, but two booms by Lägreid and one by Christiansen in the last shot while Samuelsson fired fully meant that he could save a fourth place, a place behind Lägreid, but before both Christansen ( fifth) and Jacquelin who finished well down the results list.

In the shadows, Martin Ponsiluoma made a good effort and went up from a tenth to a sixth place.

Water did German veteran Erik Lesser.
