The women's crowns do not have to play in the ice hockey WC's second division.

At today's meetings, the International Ice Hockey Federation has decided that Sweden will replace Russia, which has been stopped from playing in the IIHF's tournaments.

Sweden would have played in the b-division in April in French Angers, and met national teams such as the Netherlands, Norway and Austria.

But may now instead play in the A-WC which is decided in Denmark between August and September.

At the WC 2019, Damkronorna went out of the highest division after group losses against Germany, Japan and the Czech Republic.

However, no world championship has been decided since then, so Sweden has never played a match in the b-division.
