What a duel!

Eintracht Frankfurt has caught the dream lot FC Barcelona for the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

RB Leipzig will face Bayer Leverkusen's conqueror Atalanta Bergamo.

That was the result of the draw on Friday in Nyon at the headquarters of Europe's football association UEFA.

The first leg will take place on April 7th, a week later the second meeting is scheduled.

Should the Frankfurt prevail against the Catalans, they would meet the winner of the encounter between West Ham United and Olympique Lyon.

Leipzig would then face either SC Braga from Portugal or Glasgow Rangers.

The final will take place in Seville on May 18th.

The Frankfurters held their ground in a dramatic duel against Betis Sevilla and are in the quarter-finals of this competition for the sixth time.

According to data provider Opta, Eintracht have not lost their last seven games against Spanish sides in UEFA competition and have won all three knockout stages, two-legged ties.

Leipzig had reached the top eight without a fight after opponents Spartak Moscow were excluded from the competition due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

RB is in the quarter-finals of the Europa League for the second time since 2018.

Bayer Leverkusen narrowly missed out on Bergamo in the round of 16.

After third place in the group stage of the Champions League, Borussia Dortmund was eliminated in the intermediate round of the Europa League.
