There were headlines in January when information that John Klingberg, 29, had requested a third from Dallas leaked out.

Klingberg commented on the whole thing with the fact that he does not feel fully appreciated in Dallas and that the contract negotiations between the parties had stalled.

But he is still there.

The NHL's trade deadline, the date for a trade stoppage in the league, is March 21 and whether Klingberg will remain or not will be clear in the coming days - but away against Montreal, he at least strengthened his shares.

Klingberg had an assist to Jamie Benn's 2-1 goal in the second period.

However, Montreal scored two quick goals in the third period and took the lead.

Then Klingberg took over.

With five minutes left of regular time, he put the equalizer puck and with only ten seconds left of extra time, he made the decisive 4-3.

Thus, the Swede doubled his goal harvest this season and he is now listed for four hits.

"A lot of uncertainty"

- There has been a lot of uncertainty this season, that is, but all the star break came at the right time.

During that I had to reload and then I think I played really well and I have also started to produce much more, he says to Aftonbladet.

Dallas is involved in the playoffs and at the same time, back star Miro Heiskanen has contracted glandular fever, which could indicate that Klingberg - whose contract expires after the season - can stay.

- I have seen the media claim it, but I know nothing, he says.
