Rasmus Wickbom was 1.8 km 22 seconds behind Norges Baklid at the pass and thus only in eighth place at that pass.

But Wickbom made a strong finish and caught up.

In the finish he was instead three seconds faster than the Norwegian who ended up just outside the medal position.

At the top it was double Finnish.

Ville Petteri Saarela won in 11.47 minutes - a paltry second faster than compatriot Tuomas Kotro.

Wickbom was three seconds behind the winner in the time of 11.50.

The ladies' sprint is going on right now.
