Sweden plays in the same group as Russia in the European Championships and the team will, according to the program, meet on July 17.

But if the war in Ukraine continues this summer, the Russian women's soccer team will not be allowed to participate in the European Championships.

Otherwise, when it comes to Tuesday's decision in Cas, UEFA's stop for games in the Europa League for Spartak Moscow remains.

Russian junior and youth national teams are also not allowed to play championship qualifiers.

Cas's decision, however, has nothing to do with the playoff game for the World Cup in Qatar, but can give a clue as to how the court views the sport's sanctions against Russia and how it will be judged in the appeal that applies to the playoff game for the World Cup.

Cas writes that they will make a statement on that issue at the end of this week.

Russian activists and teams have been stopped from internationally competing and matching in many sports since the country invaded Ukraine in February.
