All football matches scheduled for this weekend of March 19 and 20 have been postponed.
The Provence football district announced that it had made this decision after the attack on a referee last weekend during the D3 meeting between Miramas and Salin-de-Giraud, two clubs from Bouches-du-Rhône.
According to
La Provence,
the 23-year-old referee, violently attacked by two players, received days of total temporary interruption of work (ITT).
“In solidarity with this referee victim of the unspeakable behavior of his two attackers, the Management Committee has decided to postpone all official meetings, and this in all categories”, announces the district in a press release, of which
20 Minutes
has had access.
He recalls the values advocated by football such as “pleasure, respect, commitment, tolerance and solidarity.
Violence cannot therefore find its place on our green rectangles”.
