Kiwoom Heroes' new foreign player, Yasiel Puig (32), struck out in a row at the first demonstration game of Korean professional baseball.

Puig struck out twice in the second and third innings in the 2021 KBO League demonstration game against the Doosan Bears at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 12th.

In the first at-bat at the end of the second inning, Puig swung the bat on Doosan starter Won-Jun Jang's slider in a 1-ball situation, but it was a big foul that hit the net. The result was a looking strikeout.

It would have been a ball in the past, but the referee declared a strike due to the influence of the extended strike zone this season.

Puig was embarrassed by the unexpected decision, and after a moment of puzzlement at the plate, he returned to the dugout.

Puig also struck out in the second at-bat at two-out first and second base chances at the end of the 3rd inning, swinging in vain at Doosan pitcher Yoon Myung-jun's curve.

After three innings, Puyi finished his first Korean professional baseball game with only two strikeouts when he was replaced by Park Chan-hyeok.

On this day, Puig complained of shoulder pain before the game, but eventually started as a right fielder with the 4th batter.

Puig, the most notable foreign player who will play in the KBO League in the 2022 season, is a slugger with 132 home runs in his career.
