Dutch international referee Danny Makele managed to get out of the "El Clasico" match safely, without any refereeing problems, despite the importance of the confrontation and the unparalleled enthusiasm that accompanied the match, whether in the stands or on the field.

Danny Makelele did not use the “mouse” technique, despite the presence of some difficult cases that occurred during the match, including the goal scored by Al Wahda player, Fabio Martinez, at the beginning of the second half and the referee canceled it due to the interference of the Portuguese player with goalkeeper Khaled Issa, and the demand of Al Wahda players With a penalty kick after Omar Khribin fell, inside the box.

And the referee helped with his decisions to continue the actual time of the match, as he hung his whistle in eight cases in which he indicated the continuation of play despite the presence of errors on the two teams because the ball was within reach, without the need to stop playing.

Makelele used his whistle only 20 times over the course of the match, calculating 11 offenses for the unit and nine offenses for the eye.

He also showed his yellow card only once, and Annabi defender Abdullah Al-Karbi received it in the 56th minute, after a strong intervention against Al-Ain player Arik.
