[Commentary] The 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympics is in full swing.

There is a special "4s" shop at the Winter Paralympic Games, which is the wheelchair prosthesis repair center. The three Winter Paralympic Villages and the five competition venues (venues) are fully equipped, ready to serve athletes at all times.

[Explanation] At the Winter Paralympics, athletes will use not only life aids such as wheelchairs, prosthetics, and orthoses, but also sports equipment such as ice sleds and sitting skis.

Zhu Siwei, a maintenance technician at the Zhangjiakou Winter Paralympic Prosthetics and Wheelchair Repair Service Center, introduced that all these problems can be repaired by "4S shops".

The main ones are wheelchairs and prosthetics, because this may mean that the disabled are the two most used. Maybe disabled people use wheelchairs every day, and some tires are often worn.

(Sports equipment) The main thing that is bad is that for skis like this sled, the place where the seat and the sled are connected is easier to damage.

[Explanation] Zhu Siwei said that the difficulty in maintaining all kinds of auxiliary equipment during the Winter Paralympics is not how difficult it is to repair, but the tight time.

A few days ago, Liu Zixu, who won China's first gold medal, suffered a sudden damage to his sports equipment.

Liu Zixu (maintenance aid), who won the gold medal for China just two days ago, was after 4 pm because he had to go to other competitions the next day.

Only one screw was rusted. When we took it out (found) it was equivalent to saying that "the head of the (screw)" came down, and the other half was broken inside. This kind of thing is actually very difficult to deal with in normal times. It can't damage its equipment, drill the screws bit by bit, widen it bit by bit, and then make a thread for it again, we will fix it after 5 o'clock.

[Explanation] At present, the level of disabled athletes is constantly improving, which is also related to the development of assistive device technology.

Zhu Siwei said that nowadays assistive devices pay more attention to personalization, and the use of materials for assistive devices is also more advanced.

From the original single is the so-called batch products, now this kind of personalized, more and more focus on individual differences.

Like biathlon and cross-country skiing, from the original aluminum frame seat is a major part, and now more and more of this carbon fiber.

In fact, the key is to look at the strength of the athlete, but if you encounter that kind of wind (weather), of course, the carbon fiber surround design can reduce wind resistance, and carbon fiber is inherently lighter, which is definitely lighter than the aluminum alloy frame. Better drive some.

[Explanation] Zhu Siwei has been engaged in the maintenance of assistive devices for the disabled for 10 years and often deals with disabled people.

Zhu Siwei said that disabled people are the same as able-bodied people, and many disabled people are more self-reliant.

We feel that they (disabled people) are the same as us.

It turns out that sometimes when I see a disabled person, I can't help but go up and sit in a wheelchair. I will go up and help him push, but then I learned to observe him slowly.

In fact, some disabled people are very self-improving and self-reliant. I do what I can do by myself, and I don't want to trouble others.

Through the Paralympic Games, we can learn more about the lives of disabled friends, and in ordinary society, when encountering disabled people, we can have a peaceful mind and have a positive and optimistic view.
