Thrown out of the union: "Sad to have to do this"

At the end of January, SVT Sport wrote that Falu canoe club risked being thrown out of the Swedish Canoe Association.

It was about several different events over several years.

Among other things, the union accused the club of having an activity that is contrary to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

- There is so much information and events that we unfortunately have no other alternative, said chairman Lars Martinsson.

"Is necessary"

It is now clear that Falu is excluded.

- It is sad to have to do this, but we believe that the decision is necessary because the association does not meet the basic conditions that apply to being affiliated with the association, says Lars Martinsson to the association's website.

Falu canoe club has the opportunity to appeal the decision to the National Sports Board.
