Poland qualified for the final of the "World Cup supplement" after the exclusion of Russia "administratively"

Yesterday, the International Football Association (FIFA) confirmed that Poland had officially qualified for the second round of the play-off qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, at the expense of Russia, which excluded it from international competitions with an administrative penalty.

Russia was scheduled to host its counterpart Poland on the 24th of this year in the semi-finals, with the qualifier facing the winner of the confrontation of Sweden and the Czech Republic on the 29th of it, but FIFA decided to exclude Russia from its international competitions because of its invasion of Ukraine.

"Following the decision issued on February 28, which was taken jointly with UEFA, to suspend the participation of all Russian teams in all FIFA and UEFA competitions until further notice, FIFA has decided to officially qualify Poland for the final of the play-off of the second track," he said in a statement.

The International Federation also decided to postpone the confrontation with Scotland and Ukraine, which was scheduled for the current 24th as well, and to hold it next June.

"The Scotland-Ukraine match has been postponed to take place in June, and therefore the second match on this track between Wales and Austria will also be postponed," FIFA said.
