Oksana Masters took silver in today's long jump in the Paralympics. The American, who was born in Ukraine, was disappointed when she planned to donate the gold medal to Ukrainian children. - I wanted to take the gold ... I want to donate everything to Ukrainian children and children with disabilities, says Oksana Masters to NBC.
Masters were born in Ukraine with severe radiation damage from the Chernobyl disaster.
Her parents abandoned her and she grew up in an orphanage before being adopted by an American at the age of eight.
- I know exactly how they feel, I was one of those children in Ukraine, says Masters.
