Major League Baseball Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Hyun-jin Ryu became a daily instructor for the juniors of his former team, the Hanwha Eagles.

After completing Hanwha Spring Camp training at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon, Hyunjin Ryu delivered his big league experience and survival secrets to Hanwha pitchers in the stadium briefing room at the request of Hanwha pitching coach Jose Rosado.

The Hanwha club said, "Hyun-Jin Ryu talked about his attitude when pitching, the fight for the ball count, his experience and pitching philosophy."

All Hanwha pitchers attended Ryu Hyun-jin's lecture.

From rookie pitcher Jun-young Park to veteran Woo-ram Jung, regardless of age, everyone gathered and listened.

Foreign pitcher Nick Kingham also attended the event and asked about his opponent's tricks.

Ryu Hyun-jin said, "If a pitcher is disappointed or loses interest in the pitching situation, he cannot develop," he advised.

He also said, "The first strike is important for count fights. It is effective when you throw the ball while reading the game flow."

Ryu Hyun-jin, who said that a 'runaway pitch' could be 'poison' to a pitcher, emphasized, "Pitchers inevitably get hits and home runs." He emphasized, "You must never run away."

The Hanwha club said, "Hyun-Jin Ryu's lecture lasted about 30 minutes."

Hanwha franchise star Ryu Hyun-jin has been training at Hanwha since last month when all facilities were closed due to a labor dispute in MLB.
