In 1989, the Oksana Masters was born in Ukraine.

She was adopted to the United States and is today one of the country's big stars at the Paralympics.

During the ongoing games in Beijing, she has won gold and silver in cross-country skiing.

The 32-year-old tells SVT Sport that she thinks about her country of birth during the competitions.

- I'm so proud to be Ukrainian and American.

The great thing about sports is that you can represent so much more than competing, training and achieving results, says Masters.

Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine weighs on her.

- My heart is with Ukraine.

Every pole vault I think of everyone who is there and fighting.

I wish I could do more, she says.
