The Japan Cup, which competes for the fastest sport climbing speed in Japan, was held in Kyoto, and 19-year-old Ryo Omasa for boys and Fumika Kawakami, 15-year-old for girls, both won their first championships.

Sport climbing speed is an event that competes for the speed of climbing a wall 15 meters high.

At the Tokyo Olympics, it was held as one of the "composite" events that compete for overall results, but at the Paris Olympics two years later, it will be held as a single event.

On the 6th, the Japan Cup, which decides the fastest speed in Japan, was held in Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture.

The athletes who participated in the Tokyo Olympics did not participate, but the boy was a first-year university student in Ehime prefecture, and 19-year-old Daimasa won the final in 6 seconds 68 for the first time.

Daimasa said, "I was able to set a personal best of 5 seconds 79 in the qualifying, and then I was able to climb with confidence. The goal of this tournament was to win the championship and to set the 5 seconds range, so both are clear. It's the best I can do. "

As for the girls, Kawakami, a 15-year-old third-year junior high school student in Tottori Prefecture who started speeding two years ago, won the final in 8.63 seconds and won the championship for the first time.

Kawakami said, "I wish I could participate in the Paris Olympics. I want to break the Japanese record held by Miho Nonaka by the Olympics."
