Marie Bochet put France in the spotlight this Sunday in Beijing.
The skier, the main French star in winter events, won silver in the Super-G (standing category) of the Paralympic Games, thus unlocking her counter in this competition.
Aged 28, the native of Chambéry, who had fallen the day before during the descent after losing a ski, finished behind the surprising Chinese Zhang Mengqiu.
“It has a little taste of gold (this medal)!
“Reacted Marie Bochet after the race because” the Chinese was difficult to pick up “.
“I was under a bit of pressure”
“I had to bounce back after yesterday, I was under a bit of pressure (…) Today, I have the silver medal, I'm happy”.
Nicknamed "the Snow Queen", Marie Bochet, multiple gold medalist in the World Championship, World Cup and Paralympic Games, was born with a malformation of the left forearm.
France now has three medals at these Paralympic Games: one gold, one silver and one bronze.
Trials run until March 13.
