China News Service, Beijing, March 5th. On the 5th, in the women's biathlon sprint stance group competition at the Beijing Winter Paralympics, Chinese player Guo Yujie won the championship, and another Chinese player Zhao Zhiqing won the bronze medal.

Guo Yujie is the flag-bearer of the opening ceremony of the Chinese delegation to the Beijing Winter Paralympics. The gold medal she won is the second gold of the Chinese team in this competition.

Guo Yujie, who was born in March 2004, is not yet 18 years old. Her left hand is congenitally disabled, but she has shown a high athletic talent since she was a child.

According to media reports, she has participated in the selection of gymnastics and swimming events in Hebei Province and was successfully selected.

But at that time, her parents did not let her leave home due to age and academic considerations.

After the 2022 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics were confirmed to be settled in China, the Zhangjiakou girl's hometown became the city of the Winter Olympics, and she was also selected to become a skier.

Professional training is very hard. Guo Yujie has encountered many difficulties in this new field. At a young age, her legs often become weak.

Falling down again and again and standing up again and again, the stubborn Guo Yujie did not give up.

In 2016, Guo Yujie was injured during training and was diagnosed with a rupture of the collateral ligament in her foot. However, in order to prepare for the National Paralympic Games, Guo Yujie chose to postpone the operation.

She underwent surgery and rehabilitation after the 10th National Paralympic Games and the 7th Special Olympics in 2019.

Since then, Guo Yujie's performance on the field has become more and more prominent. She won the 3rd place in the short distance women's standing group of the biathlon at the Euro 2021 Finland, and won the 11th National Paralympic Games and the 8th Special Olympics in the country. Cross-country skiing and biathlon won 3 golds and 3 silvers.

In the Beijing Winter Paralympics, Guo Yujie and Paralympic men's ice hockey player Wang Zhidong also served as flag bearers for the opening ceremony of the Chinese delegation.

On the 5th, the first competition day in Zhangjiakou Division, Guo Yujie won the championship in the biathlon women's sprint stance group.

Good job girl!
