“We have decided to terminate cooperation with the title sponsor, the Uralkali company, and the driver Nikita Mazepin,” the team’s press service reports.

It is specified that the decision was made in connection with the situation in Ukraine.

Mazepin, 23, began competing in Formula 1 in 2021.

On March 1, the leadership of the International Automobile Federation decided to impose a package of sanctions on Russian pilots.

On March 4, the federation added new items to its rules.

Russian pilots must sign a declaration of commitment to the principles of peace and political neutrality, which states that they are forbidden to use the word "Russian".

Earlier it was reported that Mazepin in the team will be replaced by Italian pilot Antonio Giovinazzi.
