English reports talk about an Egyptian businessman approaching the purchase of Chelsea

English press reports said that an Egyptian businessman intends to buy Chelsea FC, after the decision to put it up for sale.

Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, owner of Chelsea Football Club, officially announced today, Wednesday, the sale of the club, after speculation during the past days about his direction to sell the “Blues” in light of the crisis that Roman recently suffered in England as a Russian.

And the English newspaper, “The Telegraph”, confirmed that yesterday, an invitation was submitted to interested parties to submit official bids to buy the club by March 15, and offers are expected to be submitted this week.

A potential interested party is believed to be Lotfi Mansour, the Egyptian CEO of Man Capital, the investment arm of his family's Mansour trading group.

33-year-old Lutfi Mansour is a season ticket holder at Stamford Bridge and it is believed he could make a bid for the club, according to several sources who spoke to English newspapers throughout the day.

European and Swiss newspapers reported the desire of Swiss businessman Hans-Joerg Wiese and American billionaire Todd Boehle to buy Chelsea for a large amount of money and a huge deal.

There has been an outcry in England against Russia and the Russians in the past few days after the Russian attack on Ukraine, and calls for the expulsion of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich from the country were raised.

The International Football Association (FIFA) recently announced the exclusion of Russia from the 2022 World Cup, as well as the exclusion of Russian clubs from the European Football Association competitions, and many international sports federations decided to suspend Russian athletes and prevent them from participating in any tournaments under the Russian flag.

This evening, Chelsea Football Club published an official statement by its owner, Roman Abramovich, announcing the official sale of the club.
