The Norwegian Ski Association has been clear that they do not want to let Russian skiers participate in the World Cup competitions in Drammen and Holmenkollen.

The Norwegian Ski Association sent out a new press release on Tuesday about the situation.

- Now the ski association can not wait any longer.

Therefore, the ski board has today decided and informed Fis that Russian and Belarusian participants are not allowed to start in Norway, says the ski association's chairman Erik Röste in a press release.

Despite this, the International Ski Federation, Fis, has not banned Russian skiers from competing.

- The Norwegian Ski Association can express that they do not want Russian or Belarusian participation, but they can not deny them to participate, says Fis general secretary Michel Vion to NRK.

Leaving Norway tomorrow

Now comes the next turn - the Russian riders choose to leave Norway.

National team coach Yuri Borodavko confirmed to Nettavisen that the World Cup season is over for the Russians and that they will leave Norway on Wednesday.

Later, he also spoke in an interview with NRK.

- We are leaving Norway and the international season is over for us, says Borodavko.

The Russian riders will thus not compete at the World Cup in Falun next weekend.

Instead, the riders will concentrate on national competitions in Russia.
