The International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommends that sports organizations ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in international competitions.

This is in line with the Swedish Swimming Association's call to Fina.

Nevertheless, Fina chooses to make another decision.

They allow Russian and Belarusian swimmers to participate in international competitions - but under a neutral flag.

- I agree with the Swedish Swimming Association, it is important that we take a stand.

I support it.

Of course, I think that Fina should follow what we and many others have hoped for, says Louise Hansson to SVT Sport.

"Must be clearly shown through all aspects"

Hansson condemns the war in Ukraine.

- It's completely sick.

Anything but okay and I did not think that something like this could happen in today's society.

What do you think about Fina going against a union like the Swedish here and making a different decision?

- I think it's very sad.

This is much bigger than sports but sports mean a lot to Russia and I think it is important to show that what they do is anything but okay.

It should be clearly shown through all aspects.

Hoping for another decision

What will you activists try to do to influence this?

- I saw the information now when you heard from you.

I think that many other unions will go out with calls like Sweden's.

Then we can hope that Fina makes another decision before the big competitions that the World Cup starts.

I hope we swimmers will have something to say about it.

Will you take part in competitions where Russians or Belarusians may get a place?

- It is not something I have had time to think about so far.
