The builder of the National Gymnasium Reconstruction Project——

"It doesn't have to be me, it must be me!"

  During the Beijing Winter Olympics, the National Gymnasium hosted some ice hockey competitions.

On February 3, the National Gymnasium ushered in the first game - the women's ice hockey group match. The National Gymnasium was also rejuvenated due to the Beijing Winter Olympics.

  My name is Xing Chengxi, and I am the chief engineer of the 2022 Winter Olympics Reconstruction Project of the National Gymnasium.

The National Gymnasium was the venue for the 2008 Summer Olympics, and it is the venue where Chinese athletes have won the most gold medals.

After two years, the venue has been fully upgraded and transformed to become the venue for the Winter Olympics ice hockey competitions, serving all the men's ice hockey events of the Beijing Winter Olympics, some of the women's ice hockey events and the Winter Paralympics ice hockey events.

  We have set up a special support team, which consists of five support groups including electromechanical, logistical support, weak current, civil construction, and off-site services, and formulated the "Winter Olympic and Winter Paralympic Ice Hockey Support Service Plan" and various emergency plans to carry out emergency response. Practice, find problems carefully and correct them in time, and fully escort the Winter Olympics!

  When I received this project, I had mixed joys and sorrows. In addition to being excited, I felt more "stressed" because the main stadium was a venue for the 2008 Summer Olympics, and it underwent three major renovations during the operation. , plus some minor changes in between, some of the drawings we got at that time were almost completely inconsistent with the actual scene.

  Therefore, the first step is to find out the scene and conduct a full-site survey and check.

However, the venue was small, the pipeline was complicated, and the power could not be cut off at that time, so it was necessary to ensure the normal operation of the venue, which brought certain difficulties to the scouting work.

The location of the venue pipeline is high from the ground and there are units used in the room. The review accuracy of the high-level operation is poor and the safety risk is high. To solve this problem, we take advantage of the fact that there are many young people, and use 3D scanners to map and scan the existing pipelines. , through the software to directly generate drawings, young engineers have many ideas and strong execution, we finally solved the problem of pipeline review quickly, safely and accurately.

There were more than 30 people in the project at the time, and it took more than 90 days from the beginning of the investigation to the completion of the investigation.

Still, the effort is worth it.

After the survey was completed, the project deepened the drawings according to the actual situation to ensure the completion of the Winter Olympics project with high quality and quantity.

  After the renovation, the entire venue has been "gorgeously transformed".

Today, watching the ice hockey finals take place here, I feel proud to live up to my youth.

"Spiderman" hangs 100 meters in the air

  As the iconic landscape of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the symbol tower of the Yanqing competition area of ​​the Beijing Winter Olympics is also known as the "Haituo Tower". The ribbons dance like ice and snow crystals in a spiral. On the top of the tower is a giant three-dimensional 17 meters high and 38 meters wide. The Olympic Rings logo and the logo tower are presented as a trophy as a whole.

The landmark tower also echoes the Winter Olympics venue on Xiaohaituo Mountain. 1,200 meters north of it is the Jingzhang Railway in the east-west direction, and the complete tower shape can be seen on the moving trains.

  My name is Wu Junchen, and I am the safety director of the symbol tower project in the Yanqing Division of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The sign tower is located in the solar power research base in Yanqing District. As a beautiful scenery along the way of the Winter Olympics, it shows a perfect visual effect.

  During the construction process, the biggest problem was that the wind was too strong here.

High-altitude hoisting should avoid strong wind. In order to overcome the impact of wind on high-altitude operations, the project department divides the operation time into "windy period" and "windless period". Safety hazards, centralized technical demonstration, maximize work efficiency.

  Here, 16 cranes started working at the same time, 7 gondolas were operating at the same time, and more than 10 "spidermen" were suspended for 100 meters.

We adopted the safety supervision model of "all-round, whole-process, same work and rest", and the "red helmet" became one of the most active groups here. Everyone's dark blue tooling was "cleaned" and turned white by the wind and dust.

  In response to the operational needs of aerial workers, we have designed a series of strict safety technical measures. All our safety personnel will go to the hanging basket, check and test, and use it to ensure that everything is safe before handing it over to the actual operation workers to implement.

  What impresses me the most is that on January 7th, when the whole project was hoisted and the five rings stood on the top of the tower, I was very happy, because that day was also my birthday.

On that day, I was also relieved. In the face of such bad weather, we successfully completed such a hard and difficult job. This is the best birthday present for a "safe person".

Engineering like "Dancing on the Tip of a Knife"

  The renovation project of the Capital Gymnasium started at the end of 2018 and was officially completed at the end of 2020. After a one-year stress test, it successfully passed the standard inspection of the Olympic venues and was put into use.

  My name is Zhang Yinghao and I am the civil engineer of the Beijing Winter Olympics Capital Gymnasium Reconstruction Project.

Capital Gymnasium was built in 1968. It was the largest comprehensive gymnasium in Beijing with the most complete functions and the widest range of applications. This "post-60s" venue has carried many unforgettable memories.

This Winter Olympics Capital Gymnasium has undertaken short track speed skating and figure skating events.

  The renovation of the old building has always been a problem.

Adhering to the concept of "repairing the old as old" proposed by Mr. Liang Sicheng, we restore the building model through 3D scanning, analyze the actual situation feedback data on the site, and compare the data to modify the model. The effect of 100% fit on the construction site.

  Due to the different requirements on field hardness and ice thickness for the two competitions of figure skating and short track speed skating undertaken by the stadium, we adopted the carbon dioxide transcritical direct cooling evaporative ice rink technology for the first time, and successfully shortened the ice surface switching time to within 2 hours.

12 carbon dioxide compressors operate at the same time, the ice rink is cast and formed at one time, the flatness is within 3 mm, and the ice surface of 1800 square meters has no cracks.

The carbon dioxide transcritical direct cooling ice-making system has improved the ice surface hardness and temperature uniformity to a greater extent. We also combined the coil optimization and civil engineering design to control the ice surface temperature difference within ±0.5°C to ensure the overall ice surface hardness. Basically the same, coupled with the dehumidification system in the stadium, it is more conducive to athletes to create good results.

  A suspended ultra-thin film unit system is installed on the top of the stadium, combined with a new projection technology of sound and light, to create a dreamy visual experience for the audience during the game. In addition, the seats in the stands are arranged side by side, and the leg space and seat distance are adjusted. The dehumidification system and air conditioning system around the stadium keep the ice surface, indoor, roof and auditorium at different temperatures, which not only ensures the training and competition of the athletes, but also ensures the comfort of the audience.

During the Winter Olympics, the venue was called "the most beautiful ice rink".

  The most difficult point in the reconstruction and construction is the stadium structure. It is necessary to use the original structural columns to transform the local Yugoslav structure into a frame structure. This is also the first large-span Yugoslav structural system gymnasium reconstruction in China. "Dancing on the tip of a knife".

When the machine was working on the field, my heart was in my throat, and I didn't dare to blink, for fear that the beams and pillars would crack or even break in the blink of an eye.

We regularly observe the structural deformation three times a day, and the safety and quality risks of the project are always under control, and finally 30 existing beams and columns have zero damage.
