With the fifth away win in a row, SV Werder Bremen inflicted their first home defeat on Hamburger SV in the top game and regained the top spot in the second Bundesliga.

The first division relegated team won the northern derby with goals from Marvin Ducksch (10th/76th) and Niklas Füllkrug (51st) 3-2 (1-0) and took first place with 45 points ahead of Darmstadt 98 and FC St. Pauli (both 44).

HSV (41), for whom Jonas Meffert (46th) and Robert Glatzel (80th) scored, is fourth.

In the other games on Sunday, 1. FC Heidenheim and SV Sandhausen drew 1:1.

Fortuna Düsseldorf remained undefeated at 0-0 at Jahn Regensburg in the third game under new coach Daniel Thioune.
