English football team Manchester United have canceled their sponsorship contract with a Russian airline after 10 years.



Manchester United announced on the 25th that "in view of what is happening in Ukraine, we have decided to stop sponsoring Aeroflot (Russian airline)."



"We share the concerns of Manchester United fans around the world, and we extend our hearts to those who have been harmed," he added.



Manchester United have signed a sponsorship contract with Russian airline Aeroflot since 2013, but according to British media, in 2017, the sponsorship contract was renewed for 40 million pounds, or about 64.5 billion Korean won.



The contract period is until 2023.



Prior to the cancellation of the sponsorship contract, Manchester United used a British Titan Airlines charter while traveling for a match in Madrid, Spain on the 23rd.



The British government announced on the 24th that it would suspend the approval of Aeroflot flights as part of economic sanctions against Russia.



Prior to this, Schalke 04, the German 2nd division Bundesliga, decided to remove the logo of the Russian state-owned energy company, Gazprom, which is the main sponsor, from the uniform shirt.
