Gabriel Landeskog, 29, shows great form for his Colorado.

He has scored 14 goals in the last 14 matches for the team which is one of the main favorites to win the Stanley Cup this season.

Those who met Winnipeg last night at home ice cream also needed something special.

The guests went up in a three-goal lead in the first period, but then the Swedish captain stepped into the action.

Landeskog first put 3-1 behind Connor Hellebuyck, then reduced the big star Nathan MacKinnon and in the end it was Landeskog's turn to equalize.

In the second break, it was 3-3, but that position stood only 56 seconds into the final period.

Then Andre Burakovsky's shot found behind the Winnipeg goalkeeper.

The Swede's first goal since 14 January.

Colorado had scored four straight goals and then it was just as good to continue.

MacKinnon scored his second of the evening and with seven minutes left to play, Landeskog completed his hat trick.

The Swede was immediately embraced by his teammates and was able to note the fifth of his career and the second three-goal match of the season.

- Sometimes when the puck does not want to go in, I just gravitate towards the goal and that is where many goals are scored, he said after the match.

Landeskog played the match in Colorado's second chain together with Nazem Kadri and Valereij Nitushkin, while Burakovsky got the chance in the top chain with MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen.

Landeskog paid tribute to his countryman after the match.

- It seems that he just stole my job.

Colorado tops the entire NHL with 80 recorded points in 52 games.
