Earlier today, the Norwegian Ski Association issued a press release stating that no Russian athletes are welcome to the remaining World Cup competitions.

This includes, among other things, the World Cup in cross-country skiing in Holmenkollen at the beginning of March.

- As an athlete, I want the best on the starting line, there is no doubt about that.

But I support the decision that the Norwegian union has taken.

You have to condemn this act and there is nothing that can justify it, says Johannes Hösflot Kläbo to SVT Sport.

"A clear signal"

On March 11-13, there are competitions in Falun, but so far the Swedish federation has not made a decision on the issue.

What do you think the Swedish union should do?

- It is difficult.

I think it is up to each union to decide.

But I feel very confident that I support Norway's decision, says Hösflot Kläbo.

Erik Valnes also thinks that the Norwegian union has acted correctly.

- It is a good position.

It is a clear signal that I support, he says to SVT Sport.

Frida Karlsson: "A decision for Fis"

Even though the riders themselves have nothing to do with the war, Valnes is behind the decision.

- They have nothing to do with it directly, but they compete under the Russian flag.

Marcus Grate thinks that the Norwegian federation has acted too harshly and that the Russians should be welcome to the competitions in Falun.

- They have not decided that they will go to war, but they go along with what the country decides.

I think they should be welcome.

Frida Karlsson believes that the International Ski Federation Fis should decide on the issue.

- I can think that it is not the organizer's decision but a decision for Fis because it is a total cup, she says.
