The International Olympic Committee calls for the transfer of all sporting events scheduled in Russia and Belarus

The International Olympic Committee called on all sports federations to move or cancel scheduled events in Russia and Belarus due to the invasion of Ukraine and strongly condemned Russia's violation of the Olympic armistice by the two countries. Listed under World Doping Agency (WADA) sanctions.

The authority expressed its deep concern regarding the security of the members of the Olympic Committee in Ukraine, and declared its total solidarity with them, noting that the work team of the Olympic Committee is in constant contact with the Ukrainian Olympic Committee about the possibility of sending humanitarian aid if necessary.

The decision of the Olympic Truce, adopted by the United Nations, stipulates "building a better and peaceful world through sports and Olympic ideals", and that this truce must be respected in the period 7 days before the start of the Winter Olympics, which were held from 4-20 February, and until 7 days after the Games. Paralympics scheduled from 4 to 13 March next.

The resolution stresses "the importance of cooperation between various countries to implement the Olympic Truce around the world, and stresses the role of the Olympic and Paralympic Committees and the United Nations in this regard."
