On Thursday, Russia invaded Ukraine.

On March 18-20, in less than a month, the World Cup final will be held in Tiumen on the Ural Mountains in Russia.

- With the situation that is now, I see it as unthinkable that we will go there and have a World Cup finish, says Jens Burman to SVT Sport.

Have you talked anything internal and is there any dialogue between the union and the team?

- I have not heard anything at all yet, but I assume that there are discussions about that, so I have to wait and see what they come up with.

Want to mark by boycott

At lunchtime on Thursday, the Swedish Bandy Association announced that they choose not to go to Russia at the World Bandy Championships in March.

Burman hopes that the ski association will make the same decision before the World Cup competitions.

- It definitely does not feel safe to go there when it is as it is, it would surprise me if Fis does not decide to cancel it.

Is it out of fear?

- Yes, partly that, but then to indicate that you do not want to go there when it is as it is.

Can other things be weighed in a possible boycott or is that just what is happening now?

- No, that is the conflict with Ukraine, it is nothing else.

It does not feel safe to go there when it is as it is, you never know what might happen.

- I would be surprised if it was run, it feels very unlikely, says Burman.
