Bayern Munich’s Champions League opponent RB Salzburg reported 15 corona cases “from the team and support team” almost two weeks before the round of 16 second leg.

The Austrian soccer champion announced on Wednesday that the positive results were obtained during a routine Covid 19 check.

Some actors would suffer from rather mild symptoms;

all are in quarantine in accordance with official requirements.

"For this reason, today's two training sessions were canceled and replaced by a home program.

In addition, further test series will be carried out by the team and staff over the next few days," the message said.

“At the moment we are still ready to train and play.

However, we now have to monitor the further development of the uninfected players very closely in coordination with our medical department and react to them if necessary," said sports director Christoph Freund.

After the happy 1-1 draw for Bayern in the first duel, the second leg will take place in Munich on March 8th.

It's not the first time the club has been thrown back by Corona.

The Salzburg team had to cancel their training camp in January due to six positive cases.

Among the Austrians is the German national player Karim Adeyemi under contract, who is probably about to move to Borussia Dortmund.

On the Munich side, a positive Covid finding was recently found in Thomas Müller.

It is the second corona infection for the 32-year-old.
