Man United player: "Temporary coach" adds to the uncertainty of the team's future
Manchester United midfielder Fred said it was "a bit strange" to appoint Ralf Rangnick as interim coach and that it added to the uncertainty over the team's future.
He stressed that this caused some doubts regarding the future of the club belonging to the English Premier League.
Rangnick, 63, will lead United on a temporary basis until the end of the season, before former Schalke and Rasen Pal Sport RB Leipzig coach move to work in a consultative position with the English club in the next two years.
"This is a bit strange. I know in football it is important to get positive results as quickly as possible, but it is also important to have a long-term plan," Fred told Brazilian broadcaster TNT Sports yesterday evening.
"I think it's a bit bad for us not having that. At the moment it's all about short-term goals. We don't know what will happen after the end of this season."
United reached the last 16 in the Champions League for the first time since the 2018-2019 season, and will play the first leg against Atletico Madrid today.
