Today (24th), the nightline invites you to meet the proud Korean national team who participated in the Beijing Winter Olympics, with Skeleton National Team player Jeong Seung-gi.

Q. After returning home from Beijing…

How did you send it?

[Jeong Seung-gi / Skeleton National Team Player: I met my family while taking a break yesterday, ate a lot of delicious food, and rested so well.]

Q. Entering the Top 10 at the first Olympics in my life…

How do you feel?

[Jeong Seung-gi / Skeleton National Team Player: First of all, I am satisfied to be able to achieve a good result of being TOP10 in the first Olympics.

But now it seems that I can't show everything I have, so I'm a little sad about that part.

(You're still young, right?) Thank you.]

Q. It is difficult to participate in the Olympics in the sledding event...

How was it?

[Seunggi Jeong / Skeleton National Team Player: First of all, in the case of Germany and Russia, which are sled powerhouses, we are training in a very good environment, but on the other hand, we are not able to do that, so it is a bit disappointing, but I still have the utmost confidence and don't care about that on the international stage. I think I was able to achieve good results by working hard as much as I could.]

Q. Overcoming the 1 minute 1 second barrier...

Did you get used to the game over and over?

[Jung Seung-gi / Skeleton National Team Player: There is that too, and since I am competing for the first time, the Beijing track is a little longer than the other tracks, so it is very important to accelerate from the top. I did a lot of video analysis on the part and filled it out on the second day, so I think I was able to shorten the record.]

Q. Was the start record more disappointing than usual?

[Jeong Seung-gi / Skeleton national team player: I was very confident in the start, so I was thinking about 1st or 2nd place, but I was very nervous, so I had trouble sleeping the night before.

So I couldn't control my condition, so it seems that the record came out less than usual, so I feel sorry for the start.]

Q. How do you feel with your teammate, 'Sungbin Yoon'?

[Jung Seung-gi / Skeleton National Team Player: Surely Sungbin hyung has a lot of experience.

I've been to the Olympics three times.

So he was very surprised at how he didn't tremble, and I think I need to learn that part.

So, by setting a good example, I will be able to achieve better results in the future if I follow Sungbin’s hyung a lot for a more developed image in the future.

So I think he is a very good hyung to me.]

Q. What made you start Skeleton?

[Jeong Seung-gi / Skeleton National Team Player: At first, when I was in the 3rd year of middle school, I happened to watch the skeleton at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, and then from there, the athletes leaping explosively for a short section on the ice and completely relying on only one sled to go down is very impressive to me. He came to me with great charm, so I went to Gangwon-do with my parents and started like that with confidence that I could do well if I did.

So it seems a bit strange for me to come this far.]

Q. What is the charm of a skeleton?

[Jeong Seung-gi / Skeleton national team player: Since we are a sport that pushes a sled, now, in less than 5 seconds, the powerful appearance of pushing the sled as fast as possible and explosively seems to be very good for people. ]

Q. Future games…

Is there anything that needs to be improved?

[Jeong Seung-gi / Skeleton National Team Player: I always kept my start at the top, but now I have a very bad appearance in the driving part, and it's been shown up and down a few times. Could it be possible?]

Q. Is there a goal you want to achieve in the future?

[Seunggi Jeong / Skeleton National Team Player: First of all, I want to come back to this place as a gold medalist in Italy by supplementing those parts I mentioned earlier, and furthermore, skeleton is recognized as an interesting event by people, so it is an event that you can enjoy watching It seems to be my biggest goal.]
