The ski star finished 35th in the three-mile race in Zhangjiakou.

The wind, the cold, the snow and dumb legs made the race a boring experience for Kalla.

- No, it was not a pleasant experience.

It felt like it was not responding anywhere.

- I do not know what it is ... she says after the finish.

Cold was 9 minutes and 51 seconds behind the great winner Therese Johaug.

Worst Olympics

The Swede tried to lie in the back and take speed over the crest in order to be able to catch up with a skier in front.

- But I felt that nothing went fast, I could not take the baton and do very much.

The Beijing Games are Charlotte Kalla's fourth and worst Olympics.

First 19 in a skiathlon followed by 20 in a 10 kilometer classic.

The shape was not really there.

Not exactly before the games either, when she became the last women skier to join the cross-country skiers' Olympic squad.

- It is one of the worse championships I have been to and I had hopes all the way to find form, but I have not done that.

- Right now it just feels like a frustration not to experience the feeling I still had in training during the autumn and winter, says Kalla.

"Want to save it"

But no one can take away from the 34-year-old the nine Olympic medals she has from Vancouver, Sochi and Pyeongchang.

It is the most in winter history together with the length giant Sixten Jernberg.

She does not want to share the reflection on why things went wrong in Beijing right now.

- I want to save it until I have done the World Cup and the Swedish Championships, now I have only lived on the hope that it will loosen a little in the legs.

When asked what she is looking forward to right now, Kalla answers briefly:

- To finish the doping control and go to the Olympic village.

Kalla has not yet said whether she will continue next season.
