Niklas Edin has won most things, but among all the successes was missing an Olympic gold - until now.

Team Edin beat Great Britain in the final and was able to secure the Swedish gold medal.

Team Edin offered impressive games and was able to take command early in the final.

In the third round, the Swedes stole a point and went up in a 3-1 lead.

Sweden continued to play in a controlled manner but had a couple of misses in the seventh round and the British, who came into the match more and more, caught up to 3-3.

After a new Swedish point in the eighth and a zero round in the ninth, Sweden was in the lead with 4-3 before the tenth, while Great Britain had the advantage of the last stone.

Rasmus Wranå, who played well throughout the final, was the safety himself in the final round and gave Sweden a good position early.

The British could challenge with a hidden scorestone, but Niklas Edin managed to get rid of it by knocking his own.

The round ended with the last British stone being safely placed in the middle of the nest and at the position 4-4 the match went to arbitration, where instead the Swedes had the advantage of the last stone.

Towards the end of the arbitration round, Sweden had a point stone in the nest.

With the penultimate Swedish stone, Niklas Edin was able to hide it somewhat, even if the stone became a little short.

But that was enough for the British not to succeed in getting rid of the points stone and then it was clear - Sweden had won 5-4.
