[Beijing Winter Olympics] Qi Guangpu jumped into the sky and made two breakthroughs in the Jilin snow event.

[Same period] On the evening of February 16, Qi Guangpu, a player from Changchun, Jilin Province, won the gold medal in the freestyle skiing men's aerial skills final of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Qi Guangpu not only completed his personal "Grand Slam", but also ended the history of no medals in the Winter Olympics in Jilin Province.

Previously, Qi Guangpu had won the World Cup twice and the World Championship twice, but he missed the medal three times in the Winter Olympics, and it was not until this Winter Olympics that the curse was broken.

That night, the Changchun Winter Sports Management Center organized snow sports coaches, athletes and Qi Guangpu's former teammates to watch the game together, and everyone witnessed his golden moment.

At the scene, many people hugged and shed tears.

Wang Shuang and Qi Guangpu, the freestyle skiing men's aerial skills coach of the Changchun Winter Sports Management Center, have been teammates for many years. He said that perseverance over the years is really not easy.

  (I) was moved by him to win this championship, because there have been four Olympic Games, and the Olympic Games alone have been 16 years, which is really not easy.

Now that he has done it, we are all very proud and touched for him, and let's set an example for some of our team below.

[Explanation] Jilin is a major province of ice and snow sports in China, and has sent a large number of outstanding athletes to the national team.

In the early 1990s, Changchun launched a freestyle skiing aerial skill program, and successively trained nearly 60 national and world champions for the country.

However, compared with ice sports, snow sports have not been able to achieve breakthroughs in the Winter Olympics.

He Yong, deputy director of the Changchun Sports Bureau, said that this is the biggest breakthrough in the history of Jilin snow sports.

Qi Guangpu's "championship effect" will greatly promote the development and popularization of this sport.

In the next step, we will do our best to focus on the freestyle skiing aerial skills project, especially selecting talents from our local area, including our basic training, including the improvement of our professional technical level. We will further increase this effort and improve the scientific training. Quality and level, cultivate more high-level talents in freestyle skiing aerial skills for our country.
