Today, the Emirates Professional Association organized a specialized legal workshop, which clarifies the legally safe way for clubs to conclude professional player contracts, in a manner that preserves their rights, as well as the rights of players as well.

The workshop was held under the supervision of Ghanem Gwanmeh, the legal advisor of the Association, and the participation of the international lecturer, Efram Barak, lawyer and arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sports, and founder of sports diploma programs in a number of international institutes, with more than 30 years of experience in the field of sports law, and the presence of representatives of professional clubs, including lawyers and legal advisors. The workshop focused on two axes;

The first is about sports law, while the second is devoted to professional player contracts.

Barak gave a presentation on sports law in general, and football law in particular, where he touched on the scientific and practical requirements of a sports lawyer, and the training programs that develop the skills of sports lawyers, and their importance. And how to deal with these cases to reach the desired results.

The workshop continued with a special axis on professional player contracts, during which focus was placed on the most important and important points that a sports lawyer must take into account when concluding player contracts, then contracts of transfer between clubs, and how to negotiate the terms of these contracts.

He stressed the importance of guaranteeing the rights of clubs when concluding player contracts of an international nature, especially as they fall under the laws of the International Football Association (FIFA), and the judicial authorities in "FIFA" and the Court of Arbitration for Sports "CAS" are the authority to consider the disputes that arise from it.

During the workshop, the cases in which the club has the right to terminate the player’s contract for a just reason were discussed, and the compensation mechanism due to players and clubs in cases of contract termination, in accordance with the provisions of the FIFA regulations, during which the lecturer presented several well-known international cases as cases for study in this regard.
