As the women's single short program event in figure skating at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics was finished on the 15th, an American athlete who performed to the music familiar to Koreans is attracting attention.

Mariah Bell, an American player, performed her short program to Yiruma's piano song 'River Flows in You', which is popular both at home and abroad.

Bell made her face known to domestic figure skating fans in a rather unfortunate incident in 2019.

Bell, who was training together under coach Rafael Artunian, and Korea's Eunsoo Lim, had a major clash while practicing for the ISU World Championships.

This is because Bell injured Lim Eun-soo's leg with a skating blade while practicing near Lim Eun-soo, who was moving slowly outside the rink, and did not apologize properly.

Eunsoo Lim showed her fighting spirit at the time, recording her personal best, and settled in 5th place, while Bell finished 6th.

As time passed, Bell, who participated in the Olympics as the eldest sister of the U.S. women's single figure skating team, finished 11th overall in the short event and is set to compete in the pre-program event on the 17th.
