"The girl who became a figure skating genius by taking drugs"

When Balieva, who was eligible for the Olympics despite causing a doping scandal, appeared on the silver plate, she was instantly engulfed in silence.

So time passed.

Camila Balieva (16, Russian Olympic Committee), who participated in the figure skating women's single short program at the Beijing Winter Olympics yesterday (15th), made her second appearance in Group 5 of the last group.

When Balieva's acting started, the commentators of the three terrestrial broadcasters remained silent for about 3 minutes without making any unusual comments.

These 'silent relays' are interpreted as a protest against Baliyeva's appearance in her matches despite her doping-positive test.

SBS commentator Lee Ho-jung said that after her Baliyeva's performance was over, she only broke the silence and gave a tip.

"I couldn't give any commentary to the athlete who performed proudly on the Olympic stage despite taking banned substances. The efforts of other athletes who have been training since childhood all their lives to qualify for the Olympics, athletes who have fought really fairly, What's going on? She was called a genius girl, and she became a genius by taking drugs."

On the 14th, the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) said that children under the age of 16 are subject to protection in relation to doping in Balieva, and the positive sample was taken on December 25th. He was allowed to participate on the grounds that he did not appear.

Commissioner Lee raised his voice of criticism, saying, "We must eradicate Russia's state-led doping through clear disciplinary action."

Balieva, who fell in an instant in the 'figure skating record maker' as 'a girl who became a genius by taking pills', took first place in the short program that day, receiving 44.51 TES, 37.65 PCS, and 82.16 total points. and advanced to free skating.

Baliyeva, meanwhile, said of the doping scandal that she was "doping because of the heart pills her grandfather was taking."

However, it is not known whether Baliyeva ate her grandfather's heart medicine herself or how her heart medicine ingredient came from her doping samples.
