Tambellini scored one goal in numerical superiority and one on penalties in Canada's victory match.

The 27-year-old forward is an important element in Canada's powerplay that was sharp against China.

Four of the goals came in that form of play, including the first three where Jordan Weal put two.

Both times with assist points from Tambellini.

Canada chose to put Frölunda's Matt Tomkins in the goal, his second start, and he saved his team from an early disadvantage by managing a penalty and two free positions in the first four minutes.

Now Sweden is waiting

Canada pulled away and decided the match for just over five minutes in the second period when the team went from 2-1 to 5-1.

Adam Tambellini scored both 3-1 and 4-1.

While Tre Kronor reaches the quarter-finals with two rest days, Canada must now recharge for the quarter-finals with only 22 hours of rest in their legs.

But the match against China did not seem to put too much strain on the Canadians, even if it got hot from time to time.

China has spearheaded its team by bringing in 15 foreign-born players and Jian An (named Cory Kane when he is not playing for China's national team) scored both goals for the team.
