Sven Thorgren's hunt for a medal got no further start in the men's big air final.

The Swede landed heavily in his first attempt whereupon he lost his balance.

It was only enough for 25.25 points and Thorgren was whipped to deliver in the two subsequent rounds.

In the second run, things went better for the 27-year-old, who scooped up 67 points, but to reach a prominent position, a more or less perfect third and final run was required.

That did not happen.

Thorgren did what he could but again made the landing.

The Swede lost his balance and got his worst score, 21.50, when it came to most.

The combined score of the two best runs is what counts and Thorgren finished at 88.50 points - far from a medal.

The competition is ongoing.
