After the Olympic silver this summer, Sweden is ranked as Europe's best team, and is placed in the group stage against the Netherlands, Switzerland and Russia.

SVT broadcasts Sweden's group stage match against Switzerland in Sheffield on Wednesday 13 July, and also a possible Swedish quarter-final.

The final is broadcast on SVT regardless of whether Sweden reaches all the way to Wembley or not.

- SVT always wants to be involved and broadcast when Swedish national teams fight for the medals in the major championships, and the Swedish national football team almost always goes far in these tournaments.

We hope and believe in a real football party this summer, says SVT's sports director Åsa Edlund Jönsson.

Some of the highlights in SVT in addition to Sweden's matches are Germany-Denmark on Friday 8 July, France-Italy on Sunday 10 July and England-Norway on Monday 11 July.

- The European Championships and the World Cup in women's football are the sports championships that increase the most in popularity among the Swedish people in our surveys, so we are of course very happy to be able to show this championship and also be with all the way to the final, says SVT's sports director Åsa Edlund Jönsson.
